Speaker Change: First, the variability associated with OEM supply chains and the delivery and deployment of new equipment and rental fleet could act as a governor on growth and sales and rental revenue in 2020.

First the variability associated with OEM supply chain and the delivery and deployment of new equipment and rental fleet could act as a governor on growth in sales and rental revenue in 2022.

Speaker Change: Second, the ever-increasing challenge on attracting and growing our skilled technician base. Certainly, ALTA is not alone when navigating the tight labor

Second the ever increasing challenge on attracting and growing our skilled technician base certainly Alta is not alone when navigating the tight labor market for us in the end our ability to drive organic product support revenue is directly correlated to our skilled technician head count.

Speaker Change: For us, in the end, our ability to drive organic product support revenue is directly correlated to our skilled technician headcount.

Speaker Change: Now, having said that, historically, we have an excellent track record of attracting and retaining skilled labor and continue to put important resources towards this effort, as our people are most valuable assets.

<unk> said that historically, we have an excellent track record of attracting and retaining skilled labor and continue to put important resources towards this effort.

Our people our most valuable asset.

Speaker Change: Lastly, and given the calendar, as it relates to where we are tracking on the annual guidance so far in 2022, what I can say is that what we have seen in Q1 2022 is continued strength across all of our business lines and endless.

Lastly, and given the calendar as it relates to where we are tracking on the annual guidance so far in 2022.

What I can say is that we have seen.

What I can say is that what we have seen in Q1 2022 is continued strength across all of our business lines and end markets, which provides us realtime confidence and solid support for the annual guidance similar to last year to the extent any of the underlying assumptions are macro factors related to the guidance change we.

Speaker Change: which provides us real-time confidence and solid support for the annual guidance.

Speaker Change: Similar to last year, to the extent any of the underlying assumptions or macro factors related to the guidance change, we will update investors accordingly.

We'll update investors accordingly.

Speaker Change: In closing, I want to thank all of my teammates at Ulta for your commitment to the business and to each other throughout 2021. Speaker Change: Thank you for your time, and I will turn it back over to the operator for Q&A.

Greater for them for Q&A.

Thank you if you would like to ask a question. Please press star followed by one on your telephone keypad.

Speaker Change: The first question is from the line of Alex Riegel with B Riley. Your line is open.

First question is from the line of Alex <unk> with B Riley Your line is open.

Alex Brval: Thank you, Ryan and Tony. Fantastic quarter and excellent year. Congratulations.

Thank you, Ryan and Tony Fantastic quarter, an excellent year congratulations.

Yeah.

Thanks, Alex.

Thank you two quick questions here first.

Speaker Change: Tony, as it relates to the guidance, you mentioned that the relationship with Nikola and the expectation for revenue from that relationship implied in your guidance.

Tony as it relates to the guidance you mentioned that.

The relationship with Nikola and your expectation for revenue from that relationship implied.

Implied in your guidance is minimal can you expand upon that a little bit.

Tony: is minimal. Can you expand upon that a little bit? You know, I understand that Nicola is expected to or hoping to deliver something in the order of 300 to 500 trucks this year. How should we think about that contribution to ALTA? I suspect obviously it would be, you know, second half weighted, but why not start to included in your guidance?

Understand that Nicola is expected to we're hoping to deliver something in the order of 300 to 500.

Trucks this year.

How should we think about that contribution to alter I suspect obviously it would be.

Second half weighted.

Why not start two included in your guidance yet.

Alex Thanks for the question.

Speaker Change: You know, Alex, thanks for the question. First of all, just to be clear, the guidance is really just embedded or the foundation of it is the two core segment.

First of all just to be clear the guidance is really.

Just embedded or the foundation of it is the two core segments.

Speaker Change: without any sort of impact from the EV segment.

With without any sort of impact from from the EV segment.

Speaker Change: And we wanted to be conservative there, just given, you know, the start-up nature with Nikola. We're cognizant of the numbers in terms of truck deliveries.

And we wanted to we wanted to be conservative there just.

Just given the.

Chart up nature with Nikola.

We're cognizant of the numbers in terms of truck deliveries that you mentioned there.

Speaker Change: that you mentioned there, but we also have some startup costs probably that may offset any gross profit that we were able to make maybe on some truck sales. So for all those reasons, and again, kind of the back half waiting,

But we also have some some startup cost probably that may offset any gross profit that we were able to make maybe on some on some truck sales. So for all those reasons and again kind of the back half weighting.

Speaker Change: We chose to just guide really with the two core business.

We chose to.

Just guide really with the two core business segments.

That's helpful. And then also as it relates to guidance guidance appears to be somewhat tempered by timing and delivery of new equipment by OEM.

Speaker Change: And then also as it relates to guidance, guidance appears to be somewhat tempered by timing and delivery of new equipment by OEM partners. Can you talk about, you know, clearly I suspect that they've had some delivery timing challenges for the better part of the last 12 months or so. Are those starting to ease yet? Or is there any visibility as to when it might be?

<unk>.

Can you.

Talk about.

Clearly I suspect that they've had some.

Delivery timing challenges for the better part of the last 12 months or so.

Are those starting to ease yet.

Any.

Our visibility as to when that might.

Speaker Change: Alex, this is Ryan. I'll take that one. You know, it's hard to generalize because of the breadth of our portfolio, but I think it's most accurate to say that it is.

Alex This is Ryan I'll take that one.

It's hard to generalize because of the breadth of our portfolio, but I.

I think most accurate to say that it is.

Ryan: Tempered, tempered off, but at a historically high level, you know, we have record lead times on most of our products, you know, things that we delivered this year were sold last year and orders that we're taking this year for the most part will be delivered in 2023. So it's stabilized, but it's still, it's a very tight market, historically tight and remains elevated.

Tempered tempered off but at a historically.

Hi, hi level.

Record lead times on most of our products things that we delivered this year were sold last year and orders that we're taking this year for the most part will be delivered in 2023.

Okay.

Stabilized, but it's still it's a very tight market historically tight and remains elevated.

Speaker Change: And one last question I'll get back into Q. Clearly, because of that tight market, your rental business is very strong, and it's obviously a very high-margin business, as well as parts and services. Is there any capital, or are you looking to invest more capital into that rental business?

And one last question, though.

Back in the queue.

Clearly because of that tape market your.

Rental business.

Very strong and that's obviously, a high margin business as well as parts and service tools.

Is there any.

Capital or are you looking to invest more capital into that rental business.

Speaker Change: a high demand given the long lead times for new products.

High demand.

Given the long lead times for new products.

This is Tony I'll take that one.

Speaker Change: I'll take that one. You know, in terms of the rental fleet, you know,

In terms of.

So the rental fleet.

Yeah.

All right.

Okay.

Thank you very much.

Thank you Mr Rifle.

Speaker Change: The next question is from the line of Brian Bass with Raymond James. Your line is open.

The next question is from the line of Brian <unk> with Raymond James Your line is open.

Brian Fast: Yeah, thanks. Good afternoon. We saw a strong, I guess, rental utilization in a year end. I think you provided some color, but could we get some more color on what you have seen more recently in the last few months in 2022?

Yes, thanks, good afternoon.

We saw a strong I guess rental utilization in the year and I think you provided some color.

But could we get some more color on what you've seen more recently in the last few months in 2022.

Yes, I'll take that one Brian .

We what I would say as I mentioned in my prepared remarks as well.

Speaker Change: We, what I would say is I mentioned in my prepared remarks is we have typically, specifically in the north.

We have typically specifically in the north.

Speaker Change: saw a dip in physical utilization going from Q3 to Q4. And October and November stayed really hot in terms of just utilization, physical utilization. And we really didn't see much of a dip at all until the very end of December . And that dip was probably more muted than it has been in years past.

Saw a dip in physical utilization going from Q3 to Q4.

And no October and November stayed really hot in terms of just utilization physical utilization.

We really didn't see much of a dip at all until the very end of December and net dip was probably more muted than it has been in years past.

Speaker Change: What I would also mention is we're in Florida, a large chunk of our fleet is in Florida, which obviously is not impacted by the weather. And we have held physical utilization kind of right throughout the year down in Florida at a really high level.

What what I would also mentioned is we're in Florida.

Large chunk of our fleet is in Florida, which obviously is not impacted.

By by the weather and we have held physical utilization kind of rate throughout the year down in Florida at a really high level.

Speaker Change: And that continues into Q1 down in Florida. So, what I would say up north here is in Q1 we certainly see a dip. There's frost laws that prevent us from shipping large equipment in the wintertime in the north. So, we definitely see a dip like we have in the past. But what I would say is it's probably been more muted than it has historically utilization.

And that continues into into Q1 down in Florida. So.

What I would say up north here is in Q1, we certainly see a dip.

There's there's frost laws that prevent us from shipping large equipment.

In the winter time in the north so we definitely see a dip.

Like we have in the past.

But what I would say, it's probably been more muted than it has historically utilization wise.

Speaker Change: Okay, thanks. That's very helpful. And then just on Nikola, as that relationship, I guess, continues to solidify with the new dealer territory in Arizona, could you provide some thoughts on what we should look for in terms of milestones or next steps?

Okay. Thanks, that's very helpful. And then just on Nikola has that relationship I guess continues to <unk>.

Solidify.

With the new dealer territory in Arizona could you provide some thoughts on what we should look for in terms of milestones or next steps.

Sure I'll take that this is Ryan I think the first.

Speaker Change: Sure, I'll take that. This is Ryan. I think the first milestone for us would be announcing a large order. So we have, we're working closely with Nikola and there are indications of interest. There are demos that are happening and our anticipation is that at some point this year we're able to broadcast, you know, customer number one for all the equipment.

Myles stone for us would be announcing a large order. So we have we're working closely with <unk> on there are indications of interest that our demos that are happening and our anticipation is that at some point this year, where we're able to broadcast customer number one for alto equipment.

Okay. Thanks, that's it for me.

Thank you Mr. Fat again to ask a question press star one.

Speaker Change: Thank you, Mr. Fass, again, to ask a question, press star one.

Speaker Change: The next question is from the line of Matt Somerville with DA Davidson. Your line is open.

Next question is from the line of Matt Summerville with D. A Davidson your line is open.

Yes, Hi, just a couple of questions.

I know, it's tough to have visibility from the topline standpoint, when you think about the equipment sales. So I want to focus on product support as we think about 'twenty two and based on what you've seen now for the better part of the first three months of the year. What do you feel is a realistic organic growth rate or range.

Matt Somerville: I know it's tough to have visibility from the top line standpoint when you think about equipment sales, so I want to focus on product support. As we think about 22, and based on what you've seen now for the better part of the first three months of the year, what do you feel is a realistic organic growth rate or range we should expect to see on product support for Alta in 22?

You should expect to see our products support for Alta in 'twenty two.

Okay.

Matt Somerville: Matt, good to hear from you and thanks for the question, this is Tony.

Matt Good to hear from you and thanks for the question. This is Tony.

<unk>.

Tony: We always have to kind of think about the segments bifurcated from one another as the construction segment, you know, has realized

We always have to kind of think about the segments bifurcated from one another as the construction segment.

Is realized.

Tony: organic growth numbers in the double digits for quite some time now as we, you know, take share for our OEMs, drive field population, higher mechanics.

Organic growth numbers in the double digits for quite some time now as we take share for our Oems drive field population higher mechanics, and kind of run the Alta playbook in the territories that we're at.

Tony: kind of run the ALTA playbook in the territories that we're at. As I mentioned on my prepared remarks, the bottleneck can be tech headcount, which is always difficult. We're good at it, as I mentioned.

As I mentioned on my prepared remarks, the bottleneck can be tech head count.

Which which is always difficult we're good at it as I mentioned.

Tony: But that can that can act as a bit of a governor having said that We we we expect product support in the construction business to continue to run very strong Especially in some of the newer geographies that we've entered through M&A Upstate New York being one of the one of the newest Kind of territories that we've entered And and Florida as well. So I would I would expect

That can that connect is a bit of a governor having said that.

We expect product support in the construction business to continue to run very strong.

And especially in some of the newer geographies that we've entered through M&A.

State New York being one of the one of the newest.

Kind of territories that we've entered.

And Florida as well, so I would expect.

Something something in the double digits.

Tony: You know, something in the double digits would be the expectations there on product support in the construction segment. The material handling

Would be the expectations there on product support in the construction segment.

The material handling segment.

Tony: you know, a more mature business, kind of as we think about organic growth rates year on year in that business, recall that it was more impacted with COVID in 2020, probably than our construction business was.

A more mature business.

Kind of.

Think about organic growth rates are year on year in that business.

Recall that it was it was more impacted with Covid in 2020, probably than our than our construction business was.

Tony: And historically, the growth rates there have been 5% or 10%.

And historically the growth rates, there have been five or 10%.

Tony: And I would expect probably kind of a return to that norm.

I would expect probably kind of a return to that norm.

Tony: overall, especially as we're able to kind of pass along pricing increases.

Overall, especially as we're able to pass along pricing increases.

Tony: on parts and labor. So, hopefully that gives you some idea of the expectation there.

On parts and labor. So hopefully that gives you gives you some idea of the expectation there.

Tony: I appreciate that. In terms of pricing, can you talk about what rent-to-rent pricing look like in 21 versus 20, and then what you anticipate to realize on top of that in 22 over 21? And if you're able to give the same color on product support, that would be helpful as well.

I appreciate that in terms of pricing can you talk about.

What rent rent pricing look like in 'twenty, one versus 'twenty and what you anticipate to realize on top of that in 'twenty two over 'twenty, one and if youre able to give the same color on product support that would be helpful. As well. Thank you.

Yeah.

That's a that's a difficult question, Matt I'll take the.

Speaker Change: You know, that's a difficult question, Matt. I'll take the product support.

The product support piece first.

Speaker Change: The product support piece, certainly with the, I mean, similar to the equipment markets, when there's a dearth of supply, you can rates tend to go higher. What I would say, though, is every market is different. The competitive landscape is different.

The product support piece, certainly with the I mean, similar to the equipment markets. When there is a dearth of supply.

Can you can you can.

Rates tend to go higher what I would say, though is every market is different that the competitive landscape is different.

Speaker Change: And so rates are different kind of across the board just given you know when you compare and contrast the geographies But but in general, I mean certainly something along the lines of three to five percent

And so rates are different kind of across the board just given.

When you compare and contrast, the geographies.

But but in general I mean, certainly something.

Long the lines of 3% to 5%.

Speaker Change: in terms of rates on product support, just pricing, I guess I would say, and on the rental piece, which by the way we would expect to continue into 22 here, on the rental piece

In terms of.

Right.

On product support just.

Just pricing I guess, I would say and on the rental piece.

Which by the way, we would expect to continue into 'twenty two here on the rental fleet the rental piece.

Speaker Change: You know, I think, again, factors that are very specific to different regions can vary. But we saw multiple, you know, single-digit kind of increases in the markets that we're in and for the equipment categories that we're in in 2022, or, I'm sorry, in 2021 and kind of remains to be seen in 2022.

I think again factors that are very specific to different regions can can vary.

But we saw it we saw multiple single digit kind of increases in the markets that we're in and for the equipment categories that we're in in 2022 or I'm sorry in 2021.

And kind of remains to be seen in 2022, but.

Speaker Change: You know, everything suggests that the trends may continue.

Everything suggests that the trends may continue here.

Got it and then.

Speaker Change: And then I'll go ahead and ask one more just I'm going to call your warehouse solutions business, which is not the lift truck like the automation stuff.

I'll go ahead and ask one more just.

I'm going to call. It your warehouse solutions business, which is not to lift trucks like the automation stuff, how big is that business for Alta as of year end 'twenty one.

Speaker Change: How big is that business for Ulta as of year end 21 and what, what can you scale that to this year, you know, there's, I feel like you've referenced backlog statistic, just per painting to that piece to the business in the past. I could be wrong, but if you guys could do a deeper dive on kind of the, the automation piece, but it didn't material handling that great.

What can you scale that to this year.

I feel like you've referenced backlog statistics, just pertaining to that piece of the business in the past I could be wrong, but if you guys could do a deeper dive on kind of the.

The automation piece embedded in our material handling that's great.

Speaker Change: Sure, sure, Matt. I'll take that one. I want to say that, you know, the the material handling business was somewhere along the lines of and we produced some data last quarter on peak logic specifically and and You know, of course on top of that we we have the investment in Scott Tech So combined that that business

Sure sure, Matt I'll take that one.

To say that the material handling business.

Somewhere along the lines of we produce some data last quarter on peak logic specifically.

And.

Of course on top of that we have the investment and Scott Tech.

Combined.

That business.

Speaker Change: You know, Matt, I may have to get back to, I don't have a top of mind, but I want to say that that business was about $50 million combined when we bought it. So between 2022 and 2021 for SCOTTech, and we would have saw, you know, something along the lines of 25% growth on that metric.

Hi, Matt.

I may have to get back to I don't have it top of mind, but I want to say that that business was.

About $50 million combined when we bought it so.

So between 2022 and 2021 for Scott Tech and.

And we would have saw something.

Something along the lines of 25% growth on that metric in 2021 here.

Speaker Change: in 2021 here.

The <unk>.

Speaker Change: The question then becomes, what does it look like for 2022? So let's just say we did $65, $70 million maybe this year. And a lot of the same types of issues impact that business, supply chain being one of them, and skilled labor being the other, a little bit different skilled labor in terms of having an appropriate amount.

The question then becomes what does it look like for 2022, so, let's just say, we did $65 $70 million maybe this year.

And a lot of the same types of.

Issues impact that business supply chain being one of them.

And skilled labor being the other a little bit different skilled labor in terms of having a appropriate amount of project engineers and design engineers.

Speaker Change: project engineers and design engineers in that space, which are also kind of in high demand here. So, anyway, hopefully, that ends our presentation.

In that space, which are which are also kind of in high demand here. So.

Anyway, hopefully that helps Matt.

Answer your question, yes. Thank you I appreciate it thanks, Kevin.

Speaker Change: answer your question. Yeah, thank you. Yeah, I appreciate it. Thanks.
