The company still needs a clear win and reputational repair after Composer 2 was revealed to be largely a licensed Kimi 2.5 model without upfront disclosure, which has made some users wary.

Cursor 3’s agent-orchestration UI highlights a second-order bifurcation: the value chain splits between (A) large model providers that monetize pre-trained capabilities and (B) orchestration, observability and infrastructure layers that stitch agents into reliable workflows.
