GROUPE PARTOUCHE : Résultats semestriels solides

Groupe Partouche reports H1 FY25-26 revenue up +3.0% to €240.4M, but EBITDA falls to €48.3M (-12.7%) and operating profit weakens: ROC at €18.2M (-25.0%). Net income drops to €7.2M vs €12.6M (-42.7%), driven by non-recurring items including a -€3.0M non-current operating loss and higher debt financing costs. Financial position remains “healthy” with net debt €196.6M (gearing 0.5x, leverage 2.9x) despite net cash outflows (net debt increased vs €163.9M).

Analysis

The real takeaway is that the business is moving from accounting repair to capital-intensive optimization. That tends to help enterprise value only if incremental revenue carries through to cash; here, the mix is still favorable at the asset level, but the equity is now more sensitive to payroll inflation, financing costs, and capex discipline than to the top line alone. The likely winners are the recently reworked properties and the online channel, which should keep taking share from lower-productivity venues; the losers are the hotel and legacy assets, where fixed costs and labor inflation can easily swamp incremental traffic.

Over the next 1-3 months, the stock will trade on whether management can prove that the new openings and restructurings convert into cleaner cash flow rather than just higher reported activity. With leverage close to 3x, the market will not pay up for story alone; it will want evidence that the autumn update shows sustained gaming momentum and no slippage in working capital or interest coverage. If that proof is absent, multiple compression is the likely reflex because small-cap leisure names tend to de-rate quickly once the market questions the durability of cash generation.

The contrarian point is that the headline earnings decline may be overstated by a weak comparator, but the market may be underestimating how much of the current growth is financed by heavier staffing and investment. If the Paris site and other upgrades produce a step-up in second-half cash flow, the stock can re-rate off a low base; if not, this starts to look like a value trap hiding behind a normalization narrative. The falsifier is simple: no improvement in H2 operating cash conversion and leverage staying above 3x.
