1er semestre 2026 : chiffre d’affaires en croissance de +6%, grâce au net rebond enregistré au 2ème trimestre (+23%)

AUREA reports Q2 2026 revenue of €61.7M (+23% y/y), driving 1H 2026 revenue to €107.8M (+6% y/y) after an unfavorable Q1. The improvement is attributed to higher hydrocarbon and metal prices following Middle East tensions, plus a turnaround in its Metals & Alloys business (+28% in Q2; +11% in 1H) supported by aluminum market conditions and reduced export frictions. Management maintains a cautious H2 2026 outlook given limited order-book visibility, while restructuring at REGEAL is beginning to bear fruit (June operational ramp with three active furnaces).

Analysis

The real signal is not the rebound in sales, but the fact that AUREA is finally getting operating leverage from higher commodity prices after a weak first quarter. In recycling and regeneration, revenue can re-rate quickly on commodity moves, but earnings only re-rate if throughput stays high and fixed assets are actually utilized; the mention of additional furnaces running is more important than the top-line print because it points to margin recovery rather than just pass-through pricing.

Winners are the metal-processing and oil-waste units with low elasticity to spot prices, while the losers are the lower-value distribution/collection legs where higher feedstock costs can squeeze spreads. The tariff and export-flow commentary also matters: if European scrap stays trapped locally, domestic processors can enjoy better input economics for a few months, but that benefit can reverse abruptly if trade flows normalize or if Middle East supply disruptions unwind. META REGENERATION looks like a cleaner company-specific drag: the market should treat that as an operational remediation story with a multi-quarter repair cycle, not a quick rebound.

The contrarian risk is that investors may confuse revenue beta with fundamental improvement. If Q3/Q4 volumes soften or margins fail to expand, the recent revenue acceleration could prove temporary because AUREA is highly exposed to volatile inputs and working capital intensity; the first falsifier is a 2H slowdown paired with no gross-margin progression on the September results call. The better setup is tactical rather than structural: wait for confirmation that the commodity tailwind is turning into EBITDA, not just sales.
