AMKR is becoming a leveraged way to express the AI packaging bottleneck rather than a generic semiconductor beta trade. The multi-region capacity buildout matters because advanced packaging is one of the few parts of the AI stack where incremental demand still runs into physical constraints, so a clean execution track can translate into pricing power and mix tailwinds faster than top-line growth alone. The most important second-order effect is that every year of capacity delay at peers increases customer dependence on the few OSATs that can actually ship at scale.

The near-term setup is less about demand and more about timing mismatch: capex, depreciation and ramp costs hit now, while the earnings benefit from new AI/HPC programs tends to show up with a lag of several quarters.
