This is less a demand signal for healthcare software than an indictment of execution quality. When clinicians start routing around the platform, the spend shifts from “new rollout” to remediation: workflow redesign, documentation cleanup, training, and governance. That is structurally more favorable to implementation/services vendors and point-solution workflow tools than to monolithic record platforms that rely on a clean interoperability narrative.

Near term, the biggest market risk is not lost bookings today but delayed procurement and slower expansion cycles over the next 1-3 months as buyers demand independent usability validation. If that scrutiny gets written into tenders, it raises the hurdle rate for broad shared-record programs and extends revenue recognition for systems integrators. Over 6-18 months, EHDS-style compliance may evolve from a connectivity race into a measured patient-safety/after-hours-burden race, which should compress multiples for vendors with weak workflow fit and expand multiples for those with demonstrable clinician-time savings.
