Given WordPress’s scale (runs >43% of websites and 60.5% CMS share), the update materially expands where write-capable agents can operate but Automattic’s per-operation toggles and approval model aim to limit operational risk.

Standardising bidirectional agent APIs across major CMS platforms turns content from a human-limited bottleneck into an automatable, scalable input — that lowers marginal cost per page and raises the marginal supply of publishable inventory. Expect agencies, SEO shops and affiliate networks to redeploy human hours toward higher-value tasks (strategy, monetisation) while pushing bulk generation to agents; this will compress rates for commodity content within 6–18 months and force ad buyers to tighten quality controls.
