NN, Inc. reported Q2 net sales of $128.7M (+19.3% YoY) and adjusted EBITDA of $17.9M (+36.1% YoY), with adjusted EBITDA margin expanding 170 bps to 13.9%. The company also completed a $124M refinancing using $70M cash from a $75M PIPE to retire $89M of preferred equity and reduce annual PIK interest by ~$13M (remaining pref rate cut to 10% from 14.5%). Management raised FY2026 guidance to net sales of $460M–$470M and adjusted EBITDA of $55M–$65M, and increased new business awards to $80M–$100M (up 29% vs. 2025 midpoint).

Analysis

NNBR is transitioning from a balance-sheet story to an execution story, and that changes the stock’s sensitivity: the next 1-2 quarters will trade on whether new awards convert into visible revenue ramps fast enough to offset the usual Q4 seasonality and rising capex. The preferred cleanup matters because it lowers cash leakage and removes a structural overhang, but it does not solve the real constraint: every incremental win now pulls on working capital, tooling, and plant capacity, so the quality of growth will matter more than the headline growth rate.

The likely winners are the company’s end-market customers that want second-source, non-China-constrained precision capacity in data-center liquid cooling, defense titanium machining, and robotic surgery components. Second-order, the stock could also lift adjacent small-cap industrial names with exposure to electrification and thermal management because this call validates that AI infrastructure demand is broadening beyond semis into mechanical/metal content. The losers are auto-exposed incumbents that still depend on low-mix, high-volume programs; NNBR is actively reallocating scarce engineering attention and capital away from that lane.

The contrarian risk is that investors may be extrapolating awards into earnings too quickly. A lot of the announced demand is still pre-ramp, and management is effectively admitting that 2026 is a bridge year to a 2027 run-rate; if the November/December step-up slips, the multiple compresses hard because there is not enough balance-sheet cushion to absorb a slower conversion cycle. The other hidden risk is operational: China capacity, machine installation, and metal input volatility can all pressure cash conversion even if gross margin holds.

Net: this looks constructive but not unambiguously clean. The right trade is to own it only if you believe the H2 revenue inflection is real and the term-loan refi lands on acceptable terms; otherwise, the stock is vulnerable to a ‘good story, slow cash’ reset.
