This reads as a cost-structure optimization, not a demand inflection. In used-car retail, the marginal value of faster call routing is real only if it lifts appointment conversion or reduces abandoned leads; otherwise the economic impact is mostly a few bps of SG&A, which will be drowned out by financing availability and wholesale/retail spread trends. The near-term beneficiary is KMX's operating margin optics, but any moat from this is short-lived because rivals can copy the workflow quickly.

Second-order, the bigger effect is labor substitution inside customer operations: if the system works, CarMax can smooth peak staffing and trim overtime, which matters most when volumes are weak and every fixed-cost dollar is visible.
