StandardAero reported Q2 2026 revenue of $1.5997B (+4.6% YoY) and adjusted EBITDA of $229.9M (+12.3% YoY), expanding adjusted EBITDA margin by 100 bps to 14.4%, with net income up 43.7% to $97.3M and adjusted diluted EPS rising 24% to $0.40. The company raised full-year 2026 guidance: revenue to $6.375B–$6.5B (+$50M vs prior), adjusted EBITDA to $885M–$910M, and adjusted EPS to $1.50–$1.57, citing progress on LEAP/CFM56 DFW profitability, pricing/productivity, and elimination of $300M–$400M of low-margin pass-through revenue. It also delivered $50.2M positive free cash flow in the quarter and executed $40M of share repurchases (>$100M YTD), while announcing a $180M license expansion expected to add ~$25M incremental annual adjusted EBITDA by 2029.

Analysis

This is a leverage story more than a demand story. The market should focus on the fact that management is converting installed-base scarcity into pricing power, higher content per event, and better capital intensity; that mix supports multiple expansion if investors believe the earnings inflection is durable rather than just a one-quarter catch-up. The most important second-order effect is that internal capacity, not end-demand, is now the binding constraint, which means competitors with weaker repair depth or less technical authorization should lag even if the aerospace cycle stays strong.

Near term, the key catalyst is whether second-half margins normalize in the component repair business without requiring heroic assumptions on supply chain relief. If CRS reverts to the implied high-20s margin profile, the stock can re-rate as investors start underwriting a cleaner earnings power base; if not, the market will treat the current step-up as mix timing. Over 6-18 months, the license expansion and LEAP ramp are the real valuation drivers because they convert today’s backlog into a longer-duration earnings stream with limited incremental capital, which is exactly the profile that can justify a premium multiple in a capex-light industrial.

The contrarian miss is that headline revenue growth understates operating leverage, but that same mechanism also means the quarter is vulnerable to bookkeeping optics: pass-through removal, buybacks, and lower tax/interest expense are helping EPS more than the top line. That makes the stock sensitive to any sign of working-capital normalization slowing or military delays slipping from timing to demand. The thesis breaks if CRS margins fail to recover by Q3/Q4, if free cash flow misses the maintained guide, or if the newly won OEM authorizations do not show up in incremental 2027 bookings.
