Ceragon Highlights Continued Private Network Momentum: Over $10 Million in Q2 Bookings with Selected Customer Contracts

Ceragon said it booked more than $10 million of private networks projects in Q2 across public safety, utilities, and smart cities, citing growing demand as critical-infrastructure operators modernize for automation and real-time visibility. Announced wins include an 11-site NG9-1-1 modernization in Ohio and a utility Fault Detection, Isolation and Restoration (FDIR) deployment across 1,000+ assets. The customer momentum supports a constructive near-term outlook for Ceragon’s private network pipeline.

Analysis

This reads more like evidence of product-market fit in a less cyclical vertical than a near-term earnings step-up. The important mechanism is mix: if private networks, public safety, and utility backhaul keep taking share of bookings, CRNT can gradually reduce dependence on lumpy carrier spending and improve the quality of its backlog. That matters because investors will pay a higher multiple for recurring infrastructure demand than for opportunistic telecom capex, but only if bookings turn into revenue with acceptable margin.

The second-order winner is any vendor that can sell "wireless-first" where fiber is too slow, too costly, or operationally disruptive. That helps CRNT and peers like AVNW, but also pressures fiber deployment contractors and some municipal integrators by shifting spend toward quicker-deploy microwave and managed services. The catch is that larger competitors can package similar solutions; the moat here is execution, installed base, and services attach, not a unique technology edge.

Near term, this is more of a sentiment and backlog-quality signal than a P&L event. The key falsifier is simple: if the next 1-2 quarters do not show measurable revenue conversion, gross-margin stability, or improved guide, this becomes another project-booking press release. Over 6-18 months, the thesis works only if utilities and public safety become a durable budget line rather than isolated wins tied to a handful of municipalities.
