TD Cowen raises Navan stock price target on accelerating growth By Investing.com

Navan posted first-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue growth of 40% to $220 million, beating expectations and prompting TD Cowen to raise its price target to $29 from $28 while reiterating a Buy rating. The company lifted its fiscal 2027 growth midpoint by 570 basis points to 29.6% and its margin midpoint by 170 basis points to 8.6%, signaling stronger operating momentum. Multiple firms also raised targets, with Citizens at $38 and others maintaining positive ratings after the earnings beat.

Analysis

This is less a one-quarter beat than a proof-point that the category is becoming a land-grab market, and that usually supports a higher multiple for the first two or three clear winners. The second-order effect is competitive: once a platform starts compounding both usage and wallet share inside customers, the sales motion gets cheaper and the retention loop gets stronger, which is why margin inflection matters more here than headline growth. That said, after a 122% three-month move, the stock is now implicitly discounting several quarters of execution without a meaningful stumble.

The key risk is not demand — it is normalization. In the next 1-2 quarters, any deceleration in net expansion, billings conversion, or EBIT leverage would likely trigger a sharp multiple reset because the name is being valued on a forward-duration basis rather than current earnings power. The other hidden risk is that high-growth travel/workflow software can look deceptively resilient until macro or budget scrutiny elongates decision cycles; if enterprise spend tightens, conversion can slow before revenue shows it.

The market seems to be pricing this as a clean winner-take-more story, but the consensus may be underestimating how much of the near-term upside is already pulled forward. If execution remains clean, the stock can keep grinding, but the asymmetry from here is worse than it was three months ago. The better trade may be to own it through earnings only if you can finance the position with a defined-risk structure, rather than chase strength outright.
