Robinhood and Bitget Wallet Partner to Bring 24/7 Stock Token Trading Onchain

Bitget Wallet announced a strategic partnership with Robinhood Crypto to integrate Robinhood Chain (an Ethereum L2 built with Arbitrum Orbit) for tokenized real-world assets. Bitget’s 90M users will be able to trade 90+ Stock Tokens (including mega-cap names like NVIDIA, Google, and Apple) without a brokerage account, with mainnet trading/market data/dApp access already live and additional features rolling out in coming weeks.

Analysis

This is best read as a distribution and custody experiment, not a near-term earnings catalyst. For AAPL, GOOGL, and NVDA, the incremental economic value from tokenized wrappers is likely de minimis unless it creates persistent new retail demand or changes the pace of price discovery; the first-order reaction may be sentiment-driven, but the fundamental impact is mostly basis points. The real upside is optionality: if these tokens become liquid and widely held, they can become collateral and trading fuel inside a 24/7 loop, which matters more for volatility and positioning than for reported revenue.

The more important second-order effect is disintermediation of the access layer. That is not a direct threat to the mega-caps, but it is a potential long-run wedge against brokerage, funds, and payment rails if users increasingly hold equity exposure in self-custody instead of through traditional accounts. MA and V are not obvious immediate losers, yet a durable shift toward wallet-native settlement would pressure the economics of the broader retail funding stack over 6-18 months if regulators permit it.

Catalysts will show up in usage data, not press-release language: daily token turnover, wallet growth, bid/ask spreads, and whether lending/collateral markets actually form around these assets. The key risk is that liquidity stays thin and spreads wide, making the product a novelty rather than a substitute; the thesis breaks if regulators classify the structure as too synthetic or if user adoption stalls after the initial headline trade. Consensus may be overestimating the near-term impact on the underlying equities while underestimating the strategic value of being first into onchain distribution.
