Acadia Pharmaceuticals reported Q2 2026 total revenues of $308M (+17% adjusted YoY), driven by DAYBUE net sales of $125M (+30% YoY) and NUPLAZID net sales of $183M (+10% adjusted YoY). The company raised 2026 DAYBUE guidance to $480M–$510M (from $460M–$490M) while total 2026 revenue guidance was updated to $1.24B–$1.30B; R&D guidance was lowered to $355M–$380M due to a business development milestone shifting to 2027. Management highlighted commercial traction from DAYBUE STIX adoption (40% of U.S. patients; 60% of June referrals for the new powder) and reaffirmed NUPLAZID’s path with new patient prescriptions up 20% YoY. Near-term catalysts include remlifanserin Phase II Alzheimer’s disease psychosis top-line results expected in Sept–Oct 2026 and further regulatory milestones for European launches.

Analysis

ACAD is transitioning from a single-asset-in-recovery story to a two-brand cash generator with an embedded call option on remlifanserin. The commercial takeaway is that the core franchises are now funding pipeline risk, which should mechanically support a higher floor multiple versus earlier-stage neuro/rare-disease peers; however, the market will likely discount how much of the current momentum is mix/launch-driven versus durable refill economics. DAYBUE’s EU contribution is likely small near term, so the real earnings lever over the next 2-4 quarters is margin leverage from field-force payback, not Europe.

The bigger second-order issue is that management has already begun Phase III before seeing Phase II efficacy. That improves speed to filing but increases the chance the company is locking in capital allocation around a binary readout; if September/October data miss the ~0.4 effect-size neighborhood, the stock can de-rate quickly because the valuation bridge to 2028 is mostly pipeline optionality. Conversely, a clean hit would force model revisions across both ADP and LBD, and could re-rate ACAD from commercial biotech to a multi-indication CNS platform.

Contrarian view: the consensus may be underestimating execution durability in NUPLAZID and overestimating the immediate monetization of Europe, while simultaneously assuming too much about ADP probability of success. The strongest near-term setup is still a catalyst trade, not a long-duration secular compounder. Watch for any deterioration in new-patient momentum or gross-to-net creep; either would be a cleaner falsifier than headline revenue growth.
