Advantest sees the testing equipment market growing more than 30% year over year to about $11 billion at the midpoint in 2026, driven by rising AI chip complexity. Dell set a long-term growth target of 7%-9% on stronger AI and traditional data center spending. Broadcom was highlighted as the number one ASIC supplier for AI, high-performance computing, and major networking platforms, underscoring continued strength in AI infrastructure demand.

Analysis

The setup is more interesting as a supply-chain leverage play than a simple capex-growth story. If AI silicon complexity keeps rising, the bottleneck shifts from wafer output to final test and validation, which tends to benefit the equipment layer earlier in the cycle and with better margin expansion than the chip OEMs themselves. That creates a second-order tailwind for Broadcom: the more custom AI and networking silicon gets deployed, the more it entrenches switching, interconnect, and ASIC share in hyperscaler budgets versus merchant silicon.

Dell is the cleaner near-term monetization vehicle, but the market may be underestimating how much of its upside depends on AI rack mix rather than broad server demand. That matters because AI systems are higher-ticket but also more working-capital intensive; if hyperscaler spend pauses, Dell can see order digestion faster than its long-term guide implies. The bigger question is whether traditional data center refresh offsets any AI volatility, which should keep the stock supported, but likely caps multiple expansion until visibility improves.

Consensus likely overweights the obvious AI winners and underweights the beneficiaries of the picks-and-shovels layer. Test equipment suppliers, networking attach, and integration services can see sustained order growth even if headline AI server growth slows, because complexity rises per unit shipped. The main contrarian risk is that the market is already pricing a multi-year AI capex supercycle; any indication of budget re-phasing in 2H26 would hit DELL first, then AVGO on forward multiple compression rather than earnings disappointment.
