Second-order winners are the equipment vendors and packaging ecosystem, but only if capex plans stay elevated long enough to show through in order books. The more interesting loser set is AI server and OEM hardware names with lower pricing power: rising memory content can quietly eat gross margin at the system level, especially where contracts were set before the latest memory step-up. The key timing mismatch is that sell-side enthusiasm can move the stock in days, while the fundamental confirmation needs 1-3 months of pricing data and management commentary. The thesis breaks if DRAM/HBM spot prices soften, if the next guide implies a capex supply response, or if hyperscaler AI spend slows enough to create inventory overhang. Over 6-18 months, the bigger risk is that the market is pricing MU like a secular AI compounder when it is still partly a cyclical memory beneficiary.
