Jefferies cuts Array Technologies stock price target on capital concerns

Jefferies cut its Array Technologies price target to $10.00 from $10.50 while keeping a Buy rating, citing investor anxiety ahead of a preferred equity update expected in August as the stock is down 22% in 2026. The firm raised Q2 2026 estimates to $320M revenue (+2% vs consensus) and $51M EBITDA (+15%), versus the company’s recent strength with Q1 adjusted EPS of $0.06 vs a $-0.05 loss forecast and revenue of $223.4M vs $210.34M expected. Separately, Array reiterated product progress with deliveries of 100+ GW and a refreshed OmniTrack design aimed at lowering construction costs by accommodating up to 2 degrees of post-to-post flexibility.

Analysis

ARRY is still trading like a balance-sheet story, not an end-market story. In the next few weeks, the market will likely price the August capital-markets update as a dilution event first and a growth reset second, which can keep the multiple compressed even if near-term EBITDA prints beat. The key mechanism is not revenue but equity overhang: if the preferred is structured poorly, every incremental dollar of EBITDA gets discounted by higher financing risk and lower residual value for common holders.

The cleaner expression is relative value versus better-capitalized tracker peers such as NXT. If utility-scale solar spending stays intact, customers may continue to buy trackers, but procurement can tilt toward the vendor with less financing uncertainty and stronger execution credibility; that is a subtle share-transfer risk that is not fully priced in. Over 6-18 months, however, a successful raise that funds both the preferred and disciplined M&A could actually improve scale and pricing power, so the stock could re-rate sharply if management shows the proceeds are accretive rather than defensive.

The contrarian point is that the market may be over-penalizing dilution before seeing terms. A preferred funded at an acceptable coupon with clear M&A logic could be positive for enterprise value even if common EPS is temporarily muted. What would falsify the bearish setup is a small, non-dilutive financing package, or an August update that pairs capital raising with a credible path to sustained EBITDA above consensus and no equity issuance surprise.
