Myriad Genetics (MYGN) Securities Investigation Notice

Myriad Genetics reported Q2 2026 revenue of ~$190.7M, missing consensus of ~$206–$208M by ~7–8% and down ~11% YoY, then cut full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $770–$790M from ~$860–$880M (about ~$90M lower at the midpoint). The company also lowered gross margin expectations and suspended adjusted EBITDA guidance (previously $37M–$49M). Shares fell on the guidance reset while Levi & Korsinsky opened an investigation into potentially materially false or misleading statements related to revenue, EBITDA, reimbursement/collections pressure, and prenatal testing performance.

Analysis

This is less a one-quarter miss than a credibility break: when revenue, gross margin, and EBITDA are all pulled at once, the market starts pricing in a lower terminal earnings power, not just a bad comp. The elevated receivables and cash used in operations raise a second-order risk that revenue is being recognized faster than cash is collected, which can force a harsher re-rating if working capital does not reverse next quarter. In the near term, the stock likely trades as a balance-sheet-and-reimbursement story, not a growth name.

Competitive dynamics favor larger diagnostics platforms with better payer leverage and broader menus. If physicians and payers are seeing slower collections or more denials in hereditary/prenatal testing, volume tends to migrate toward incumbents with stronger contracting and lower friction, which is a relative tailwind for DGX and LH versus smaller, more specialized names. The spillover risk is sector-wide multiple compression for unprofitable diagnostics, especially where reimbursement is a key part of the bull case.

The key 1-3 month catalyst is whether management can show receivables normalization and a stable revenue run-rate; without that, another estimate cut is more likely than a quick recovery. Over 6-18 months, the structural question is whether this is isolated execution noise or a permanent reset in test economics and payer mix. The lawsuit headline matters mainly as an overhang, but the real falsifier is improving cash conversion and a restored EBITDA framework by the next two prints.
