Hyperscale Data reports $111.4m in bitcoin, cash and silver holdings

Hyperscale Data (GPUS) reported combined holdings of ~ $111.4M (bitcoin, cash, restricted cash, and silver) as of Sunday, including 899.6503 bitcoin, while debt stands at $113.46M and the company is rapidly burning cash. The stock is down nearly 90% over the past year (at ~$0.14/share), though analysis suggests it may be slightly undervalued. Management expects the divestiture of Ault Capital Group in 2Q 2027 via a voluntary exchange of Series F Exchangeable Preferred Stock for Ault common shares, after which it plans to focus on AI data centers and holding digital assets.

Analysis

GPUS should trade less like an “asset-backed” equity and more like a levered residual claim on Bitcoin plus a long-dated, capital-intensive data-center option. That matters because the balance sheet, not the treasury headline, is the binding constraint: when debt service and capex compete with token reserves, reported asset coverage can be economically meaningless for common holders. Competitively, cleaner miners/data-center operators with lower leverage and better access to project finance should gain relative funding share if crypto sentiment stays constructive.

The near-term setup is more about financing and dilution than Bitcoin beta. Over days, the stock can rip on treasury-mark headlines; over 1-3 months, any need to fund buildout or service obligations at this price range risks highly dilutive equity or structured issuance. Over 6-18 months, the thesis only works if management converts power access and land into operating cash flow faster than the treasury gets consumed; otherwise the “NAV discount” can actually widen as the market prices in creditor priority and execution risk.

Consensus appears to be anchoring on gross asset value and missing per-share survivability. The contrarian view is that the market may be right to discount those holdings because they are not yet distributable to equity and some are strategically trapped inside an ongoing cash burn. Falsifiers: a clean deleveraging/refinancing, sustained positive operating cash flow, or BTC moving materially higher without any financing overhang. Absent that, this is a trading vehicle, not a durable fundamental re-rate.
