Nvidia Bears are Blind: 3 Reasons to Ignore Them and Buy Now

Artificial IntelligenceCorporate EarningsCompany FundamentalsCapital Returns (Dividends / Buybacks)

NVIDIA shares have pulled back ~12.5% over the past month (now ~28% below the $236.26 52-week high), but the fundamentals remain strong: Q1 FY27 revenue grew 85.2% YoY to $81.61B with 75.0% non-GAAP gross margin, and EPS of $1.87 beat the $1.7738 consensus. Valuation appears discounted versus history (≈20x forward vs 30x trailing) while cash generation supports shareholder returns, with Q1 free cash flow of $48.6B (59.5% of revenue) and FY2026 FCF of $96.6B (+58.7%); management returned $41.1B to shareholders in FY2026 and $20.0B in Q1 and approved an additional $80.0B buyback. Dividend jumped from $0.01 to $0.25 (25x) as demand is evidenced by multi-year AI infrastructure commitments including OpenAI (≥10 GW) and Meta, supporting Q2 guidance of $91.0B revenue and 75.0% gross margin (excluding China data center compute).

Analysis

The cleaner way to read this is that the market is still underpricing how much of the AI spend stack is becoming a toll road rather than a one-time hardware sale. NVDA is the clearest beneficiary because cash generation and capital returns reduce the odds of a long de-rating, but the bigger second-order winner is the ecosystem around cluster buildout: networking, optics, power, cooling, and memory. That means names like ANET and MU can continue to participate even if GPU growth decelerates on a harder comp.

The main loser is not a named competitor so much as any AI buyer whose capex intensity outruns monetization. META is the clearest example: it can get operating leverage from better models, but in the near term it is also absorbing the burden of the spend cycle, so its multiple is more vulnerable if investors start asking for ROIC proof instead of strategic narrative. The real bear case for NVDA is not demand disappearing; it is customers shifting marginal dollars toward custom silicon or slowing cluster expansion once the first wave of buildouts is absorbed.

Time horizon matters. Over the next 1-3 months, the stock is likely to trade on guide quality and whether hyperscaler commentary confirms budgets are still expanding; any hint of digestion could create a fast air pocket even if the long-term thesis survives. Over 6-18 months, the falsifier is not one weak quarter but a pattern of margin compression, weaker networking attach, or repeated signs that the backlog is stretching out without conversion; if that happens, the multiple should compress before the earnings power does.
