AllMind vs ChatGPT
AllMind is an AI research system for institutional investors: entitled content classes and the firm’s own systems held as one ontology of entities and relationships.
ChatGPT is a general-purpose assistant that reaches premium financial vendors through connectors, only where your firm already licenses them.
Both run agents for hours, so the split is whose entitlements the agent inherits.

Entitled content classes, the firm’s own warehouse and its documents held as one map of entities and relationships, with agents that run for minutes or hours and return a cited Word memo, Excel model or deck.
A general-purpose assistant with published seat prices, open-web browsing, an Excel add-in in beta, and connectors to Moody’s, Dow Jones Factiva, MSCI, Third Bridge and MT Newswires for firms that already hold those licenses (March 2026).
If your desk already pays for the data and wants a smarter way to interrogate it, the connector route is quick and cheap to start. If an answer has to carry an entitlement, a passage and an access record, that is the AllMind case.

Marks read on 30 August 2026 from TechInformed on the March 2026 finance connectors, PYMNTS on the July 2026 ChatGPT Work launch, CIO and CryptoBriefing on seat pricing, OpenAI’s trust portal on certifications, LSEG’s own December 2025 release on credentialed access, and a July 2026 walkthrough of the Snowflake MCP route. AllMind rows come from its published product pages. “Not published” means neither company documents the capability, not that it is missing.

ChatGPT reaches premium financial data only where your firm already pays for it
Every finance connector ChatGPT ships is a permission route into content the customer licenses separately. TechInformed reported on 6 March 2026 that the March launch added Moody’s, Dow Jones Factiva, MSCI, Third Bridge and MT Newswires, with FactSet listed as coming soon. LSEG put the condition in writing in its own December 2025 release: ChatGPT users “with LSEG licensed credentials” can reach LSEG market data and news. No credentials, nothing to read.
AllMind starts at the other end of the contract. Its corpus runs to 6,800+ premium data sources spanning S&P, FactSet, LSEG and MSCI data, broker research, Expert Insights, live news and newswires from thousands of sources worldwide, global investor-relations data, live earnings and financials available within minutes, alternative data and, founder-stated, sector-specific sets such as mining, healthcare and consumer staples. Those classes arrive with the product rather than with a stack of vendor contracts. The limit belongs in the same paragraph: research still under embargo needs the desk’s own RMS entitlement, and aftermarket research is included on a delay that varies by broker.
An unattended sweep turns on scale and entitlements, not on how long the agent can run
Stamina is not what separates the two. OpenAI launched ChatGPT Work on 9 July 2026 as a cloud agent that it says can spend hours on a project while you are away and hand back sheets, slides and documents, as PYMNTS reported the same day. The recurring, unattended surface is scheduled tasks, relaunched on 17 June 2026: they fire about once an hour per task, are reported to top out at fifteen active tasks on Enterprise, and refuse file uploads, voice and Custom GPTs inside a task.
AllMind is built for the other shape of job: long, multi-source workflows over many data points. AllMind’s compare pages state that one automation can run across up to 200 companies and land as Word or PDF, though Agent Studio itself publishes no cap. What matters at 6am is what the agent may see. In AllMind it inherits the user’s entitlements, can never widen them, and every access is logged. In ChatGPT the entitlement belongs to each connected source, not the assistant.
Half the edge is internal, and ChatGPT treats internal data as an app to read
In ChatGPT, Snowflake is not a first-party connector at all. A July 2026 walkthrough found no one-click Snowflake entry in the directory: you add Snowflake’s managed MCP server yourself as a custom connector behind Developer Mode, it is read-only by default, and it does not run on triggers. Company knowledge across connected work apps is read-only by design too. Half a desk’s edge is internal: its own models, notes, positioning and warehouse tables.
AllMind takes the opposite route. Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery, GCS, Azure storage and Synapse, S3, Redis, MongoDB and other systems connect by integration scope; files can sync from Google Drive, SharePoint, OneDrive, Egnyte and Box. The result is joined to the external corpus through the ontology under per-user permissions an agent cannot widen, with every access logged.
Where ChatGPT is strong
OpenAI said it passed a million paying business customers in November 2025, and on a research desk ChatGPT earns its seat daily on the work around the research: tightening a memo, explaining an instrument nobody on the team has traded, translating a foreign filing, writing the throwaway script that reshapes a messy export. It browses the open web, which specialist platforms generally do not, and one July 2026 review counts 1,400+ apps in ChatGPT Work’s directory.
OpenAI’s trust portal lists ISO/IEC 27001, 27017, 27018, 27701 and 42001 certifications with a 2026 SOC 2 Type 2 report covering 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026, more compliance paperwork than AllMind, which is SOC 2 Type II certified as of November 2025 with ISO 27001 targeted for Q1 2027. The March 2026 launch also put a model inside Excel, building and updating models in the workbook itself, in beta at last check. And you can buy it this afternoon, two seats at $20 each on annual billing, no procurement cycle.
Two different purchases, and the split is who holds the entitlement
AllMind
AI research system for institutional investors
AllMind runs agents across licensed content and the firm’s own systems, held as one ontology of entities and relationships. The content classes ship with the product: S&P, FactSet, LSEG and MSCI data, broker research, Expert Insights, global investor-relations data, live earnings and financials within minutes, and alternative data.
Snowflake, Databricks and S3 attach through a scoped IAM role and are queried in place, not copied. Work comes back as a Word memo, an Excel model or a deck from a supplied template, each number traced to its passage.
ChatGPT
General assistant with a finance connector layer
ChatGPT is OpenAI’s general-purpose assistant, sold as a consumer and workplace subscription. Since March 2026 it reaches Moody’s, Dow Jones Factiva, MSCI, Third Bridge and MT Newswires through connectors, with FactSet coming soon, and LSEG shipped its own in December 2025 for users holding LSEG credentials.
ChatGPT Work, from July 2026, is a cloud agent OpenAI says can spend hours on a project and return sheets, slides and documents. It is not a data vendor: the content belongs to subscriptions the firm holds elsewhere, or to the open web.
What each one is good at, and what it costs you
AllMind
- Expert-call transcripts ship as a built-in class, with no expert-network contract of your own
- S&P, FactSet, LSEG and MSCI data licensed into the product rather than through your own contracts
- Live earnings and financials available within minutes of the call
- Internal notes and warehouse tables joined to licensed market data in one ontology
- Every figure traces to the passage behind it, with the calculation visible
- One automation stated at up to 200 companies, delivered as Word or PDF
- Nothing here is buyable on a card: no monthly plan, no self-serve checkout
- Embargoed broker research still needs the firm’s own RMS entitlement, and aftermarket lands on a delay
- ISO 27001 is targeted for Q1 2027, with only SOC 2 Type II certified today
- No trading, execution or order management: this is research work only
ChatGPT
- General-purpose range: drafting, translation, code and explanation across the work around research
- Connectors to Moody’s, Dow Jones Factiva, MSCI, Third Bridge and MT Newswires, FactSet coming soon
- LSEG’s own MCP connector, live since December 2025 for users with LSEG credentials
- Company-stated: no training on business data, 30-day deletion, SSO, SAML, SCIM and audit logs
- Premium seats carry five times the usage of a standard seat and no five-hour cap
- Buyable today on a card, two seats at $20 each on annual billing
- The finance connectors return nothing without your firm’s own vendor licenses
- No first-party Snowflake connector: a custom MCP server behind Developer Mode, read-only
- Scheduled tasks run about once an hour per task and reject file uploads
- Agent mode was removed in early August 2026 with no deprecation period or migration guide
What AllMind and ChatGPT actually cost
AllMind
Quote-based, nothing published
AllMind is arranged through a sales conversation rather than a checkout, and there is no monthly plan, which rules it out for anyone hoping to start on a card this afternoon. The number moves on how many seats, how much of the firm’s own plumbing gets wired up during onboarding, and whether the desk brings its own RMS entitlement for live embargoed broker research.
- Platform subscription
- No published price, quote-based
- Self-serve or monthly plan
- None offered
- Included content classes
- Entitled with the subscription, no separate rate card published
ChatGPT
Published for the self-serve tiers, quoted for Enterprise
OpenAI’s own pricing pages block automated readers, so the figures below are the ones trade press quoted from its announcements and re-checked on 30 August 2026. Standard Business seats were cut by $5 on 2 April 2026, and a Premium seat arrived on 10 August 2026 carrying five times the usage of a standard seat and no five-hour cap, mixable with standard seats in one workspace.
- ChatGPT Business, standard seat
- $25 per user monthly, or $20 with an annual commitment
- Standard seat minimum
- Two standard seats, though the CIO write-up names no minimum
- ChatGPT Business Premium seat
- $125 per user per month, or $100 per user with annual billing
- ChatGPT Enterprise
- Quote-only, with a seat minimum reported by procurement aggregators and never confirmed by OpenAI
- Usage on top of seats
- Token or credit rate cards reported for Enterprise agreements, spreadsheet and deck work
What changes the quote
Seats are the smallest part of this bill. A Premium seat is five times a standard one on like-for-like billing, so seat mix is a policy decision rather than a rate.
Usage comes next: OpenAI is reported to bill Enterprise on tokens or credits, and to have stopped giving ChatGPT for PowerPoint free to Business and Enterprise during August 2026, putting a variable cost on long agent runs, spreadsheet work and deck generation. Largest of all is the data: connectors are permission plumbing, not content, so broker research, expert calls and a market feed inside ChatGPT are contracts you pay for on top of the seats.
The per-seat Enterprise figure you will find on procurement blogs is left off this page on purpose, numbers included. One of the aggregators that publishes it says on its own page that it traces back to a single unconfirmed 2023 forum post, which is not a basis for a 2026 price after two pricing changes in between. The one third-party estimate worth naming is Vendr’s OpenAI buyer guide, and it does not answer the seat question either: a median contract of $108,000 a year across 161 deals, ranging from $43,920 to $700,000, last updated February 2026, covering OpenAI purchases generally and possibly including API spend.
Which one you want, task by task
The call ended 20 minutes ago and I need a first-take note in our template, consensus against actuals, with a citation behind every number.
Live earnings and financials are available within minutes and the note generates into a supplied template with each figure traceable to its passage. ChatGPT would need the transcript pasted in and a consensus source it does not hold.
Tighten this 12-page IC memo, draft the email to the operating partner, and write me a script that reshapes this CSV.
General language and code range decides it. None of that is a research job, and running it through a governed research platform is overkill.
Read this 200-page annual report in a language nobody on the team speaks and walk me through the segment note.
Translation and plain-language explanation are exactly what a general assistant is good at, and AllMind makes no public translation claim.
Update the driver assumptions in this LBO model. We already license Moody’s and MSCI.
The entitlements you already own decide it. ChatGPT for Excel works inside the live workbook through connectors the desk already pays for, though the add-in was in beta at last check, while AllMind builds and edits the model with live formulas and IB color conventions but hands back a file.
Sweep 150 names overnight for guidance changes, cross-reference our own notes in Snowflake, and put a document on my desk at 6am.
Duration is not the deciding factor, since ChatGPT Work runs for hours. Scale and permissions are: AllMind states one automation can cover up to 200 companies, queries Snowflake in place, and hands the agent entitlements it cannot widen. ChatGPT’s recurring surface is scheduled tasks, about hourly, reported to cap at 15 on Enterprise.
AllMind and ChatGPT are bought for different jobs: depth over data your firm is entitled to see, or breadth over everything else in the day.
Buying AllMind does not mean canceling ChatGPT. The assistant keeps earning its seat on language, code, translation and the fast one-shot answer.
What AllMind replaces is the attempt to turn a general assistant into the research system: the separately licensed connectors, the hand-wired MCP route into the warehouse, and the unaudited paste of a filing into a chat window. Firms have consolidated onto AllMind and retired point tools in the process, and the general assistant is usually not one of the tools they retire.
AllMind vs ChatGPT, answered
ChatGPT is good enough for the language and reasoning part of equity research, and not for the part that has to be defensible. Since March 2026 it reaches Moody’s, Dow Jones Factiva, MSCI, Third Bridge and MT Newswires through connectors, with FactSet coming soon (TechInformed, March 2026).
It holds no content of its own. LSEG’s December 2025 release states that ChatGPT users need “LSEG licensed credentials” to reach LSEG data, as the other connectors do. There is no persistent entity graph underneath, no entitlement model an agent inherits, and no single audit trail across sources. Most desks keep it for general work and run a research system beside it.
