AllMind vs Perplexity Finance
AllMind is an AI research system for institutional investors: licensed content and the firm’s own systems held as one map of entities and relationships that agents traverse.
Perplexity Finance is a public-web answer engine with a finance vertical and an enterprise agent layer, Computer for Professional Finance.
The split is whose license the premium data sits on.

Indexes 6,800+ premium data sources, Expert Insights and your Snowflake, Databricks or S3 estate into one map of entities and relationships, then works a question for minutes or hours before returning a cited memo, Excel model or deck.
Cited public-web answers, an Earnings Hub, price alerts and scheduled Tasks, plus Computer for Professional Finance, an agent layer that connects to Morningstar, PitchBook, Daloopa, FactSet and Guidepoint under licenses the buyer holds (company-stated, 2026).
If your firm already pays for the data and wants a fast agent over it this week, Perplexity switches that on cheaply. If the content has to arrive with the platform and the permissions have to hold, that is the AllMind case.

Compiled from public sources on 30 August 2026. Cells reading “Not documented” or “unclear” are not publicly documented, not known absences. Perplexity’s own site blocks automated readers, so its marks come from docs.perplexity.ai, wire-service releases and dated third-party reporting, and the prices elsewhere on this page are third-party reports of the vendor’s published figures.

Perplexity reasons over the subscriptions you already pay for
Perplexity’s premium finance depth runs on licenses you already hold. Computer for Professional Finance, available to enterprise customers from early May 2026, plugs existing Morningstar, PitchBook, Daloopa, Carbon Arc and FactSet subscriptions into an agent through connectors, and Dun & Bradstreet added two of its own over MCP on 26 August 2026. Daloopa’s chief executive called the arrangement “enabling teams to bring their existing data licenses into AI platforms,” and that release names it a bring-your-own-license model. Guidepoint now supplies expert-call transcripts the same way, to firms already holding a Guidepoint contract.
AllMind sells the entitlement rather than the reading surface. Expert Insights is its own class of expert-call transcripts with senior operators and industry specialists, entitled to the firm or arranged through AllMind, so a desk reads them without an expert-network contract of its own. Broker research is the fair exception on both sides: embargoed research at publication still needs the firm’s own RMS entitlement here, and the aftermarket file arrives on a delay that varies by broker.
The question that runs three nodes out needs an ontology
Perplexity’s Finance Search answers from structured fields for one supported symbol at a time. Its documentation scopes the tool to public equities and ETFs, names no data providers, and says coverage “depends on the symbol, exchange, asset class, geography, and source data availability” and that market data “may be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable for some symbols.” That is a lookup with a model on top, and for most questions it is enough.
AllMind is built the other way, around an ontology. It links a company to its suppliers, its customers, the estimates set against it, the filings behind it and the firm’s own prior work, and an agent traverses those links instead of fetching documents one at a time. That is what answers which names on your coverage list buy from a supplier whose largest customer just cut guidance, and what your own model already assumed about them. The cost of the design is scope: it earns its keep on long multi-source work, not on a single fact.
Reaching internal data is not the same as joining it
Perplexity reaches internal data through connectors; AllMind joins it into the same model as everything else. VentureBeat reported on 10 March 2026 that enterprise buyers get Snowflake, Datadog, Salesforce, SharePoint and HubSpot connectors, more than a hundred prebuilt integrations, and a bring-your-own-connector route over MCP that an admin can share across the organization. ERP Today added on 24 June 2026 that the Snowflake connector is a separate enterprise release rather than part of the finance product.
A scoped IAM role lets AllMind run the query inside Snowflake, Databricks or S3 rather than copying rows out of the firm’s environment, and Data Rooms sync folders from Google Drive and OneDrive. The difference shows up after the connection. Internal models, positions and prior research land in the same ontology as filings, estimates and broker research, so one agent run reads across both, per-user entitlements are inherited by every run and can never be widened, and every access is logged.
Where Perplexity Finance is strong
Perplexity earns its place on a desk, and the best public evidence for its citation record is not its own. When the Tow Center at Columbia tested eight generative search tools across 1,600 news queries in March 2025, the field was wrong more than 60% of the time and Perplexity 37%, the lowest figure in the set. Two caveats: the paid Pro tier scored worse than the free one, and the study’s conclusion is that all eight are bad at it.
The finance surface has moved quickly since. An Earnings Hub transcribes and summarizes a call while it is still in session, alongside price alerts, scheduled Tasks, Coinbase crypto data and, from 26 August 2026, a Flanks connector reaching holdings, positions and transaction histories across more than 700 financial institutions. Computer for Professional Finance added roughly 35 prebuilt analyst workflows and a claimed figure-level audit trail where hovering a number shows the source behind it. And Perplexity publishes its prices, which almost nobody in this category does.
Two products with two different ideas about where the evidence lives
AllMind
AI research system for institutional investors
AllMind indexes licensed market and document data, expert-call transcripts and the firm’s own systems into one ontology of entities and relationships, then runs agents across it for minutes or hours at a time. It is bought for deep multi-source work: an initiation, a diligence pass, an earnings review across a coverage list.
Every number carries provenance back to the passage that produced it, with the calculation shown, and a verification pass re-reads figures before a report leaves the system.
Perplexity Finance
AI answer engine with a finance vertical and an agent layer
Perplexity is a consumer-scale answer engine over the live public web with a finance vertical on top: quotes, charts, an Earnings Hub, price alerts and scheduled Tasks. Computer for Professional Finance, available to enterprise customers from early May 2026, adds an agent layer with roughly 35 prebuilt analyst workflows (company-stated) and connectors to licensed data providers.
Filings, transcripts, consensus estimates and exchange data are built in; the premium half arrives under licenses the buyer already holds. Prices are published and a free tier exists.
What each one is good at, and what it costs you
AllMind
- Expert Insights ships as a built-in class of expert-call transcripts, entitled to the firm
- Ontology traversal from a company to its suppliers, customers, estimates and filings
- A scoped IAM role runs queries inside Snowflake, Databricks or S3, copying nothing out
- Decks from 20+ investment-bank templates, Word memos, and Excel models carrying live formulas
- Per-user entitlements agents inherit and can never widen, with every access logged
- SOC 2 Type II certified November 2025, and no training on customer data
- No self-serve checkout and no monthly plan, so a quote comes before a login
- Onboarding real depth means connecting internal systems, a data conversation rather than a signup
- A bespoke house format still takes a formatting pass on top of the supplied template
- ISO 27001 is targeted for Q1 2027; SOC 2 Type II is what is certified today
Perplexity Finance
- Real-time public-web answers with citations, published at $20 a month with a free tier below
- Self-serve signup and published list prices, so no procurement cycle stands in the way
- Earnings Hub transcribes and summarizes an earnings call while it is still in session
- Licensed connectors to Morningstar, PitchBook, Daloopa, Carbon Arc, FactSet, Guidepoint and IBISWorld
- Two Dun & Bradstreet connectors carrying a graph of more than 650 million business entities
- Flanks account aggregation across more than 700 financial institutions in more than 33 countries
- Audit logs and SCIM need 50 or more seats, or one $325 Enterprise Max seat
- Finance Search covers public equities and ETFs only, and its docs name no data providers
- Premium finance depth is licensed by you, so those subscriptions stay on other invoices
- No broker research library comes with a subscription in anything public sources could verify
What AllMind and Perplexity Finance actually cost
AllMind
No published list price
Pricing is quote-based: no self-serve checkout, no monthly plan, and a sales conversation before anyone logs in. If you want to be working this afternoon, that is a real disadvantage and worth weighing. What the quote covers is the content itself: the dataset classes, Expert Insights, the internal-system connections and the entitlement scope, rather than an interface over subscriptions bought elsewhere.

Published, and read here through third parties
Perplexity puts prices on a public page, and that page returned HTTP 403 to our fetcher on 30 August 2026. The figures here come from three independent pricing directories that agree line for line on the prices: finout (27 April 2026), coworker.ai (17 July 2026, updated 25 August 2026) and geotoolbox (11 August 2026). They disagree on the non-price limits, so those are left off this page.
- Pro
- $20 / month, or $200 / year
- Max
- $200 / month, or $2,000 / year
- Enterprise Pro
- $40 per seat / month, or $400 per seat / year
- Enterprise Max
- $325 per seat / month, or $3,250 per seat / year
- Audit logs and SCIM
- 50+ seats, or one Enterprise Max seat
- Finance Search tool, API
- $5 per 1,000 invocations, model tokens billed separately
What changes the quote
Three things move the Perplexity number more than the sticker does. Tier mix, since an organization can run some users on a $40 Enterprise Pro seat and its agent-heavy analysts on a $325 Enterprise Max seat, an eight-times spread inside one contract. Agent consumption, since VentureBeat reported on 10 March 2026 that Computer is metered in usage-based credits drawn from an organization-wide pool that administrators allocate per user. And the licensed data, which stays on your Morningstar, PitchBook, Daloopa or FactSet invoices.
On the AllMind side the drivers are seats, entitlement scope and how much internal-system connection the deployment involves.
The two contracts are not like-for-like. A $40 seat buys an interface and an agent over data you license elsewhere, with the fair qualifier that Perplexity’s March 2026 changelog says its built-in finance tools reach SEC filings, earnings transcripts, FactSet consensus estimates and exchange data with no setup of your own. An AllMind quote includes the content classes. Compare total invoices rather than sticker prices, and open perplexity.ai/pricing yourself before you budget against it.
Which one you want, task by task
A name nobody here covers just dropped 9% and the PM wants to know why, now.
A live public-web index with citations reaches the downgrade note, the filing and the headlines before a governed corpus does. Treat what comes back as a lead rather than a fact: even at the lowest error rate of the eight tools the Tow Center tested, Perplexity was wrong on 37% of source-identification queries.
Build the initiating-coverage deck on a mid-cap in our house format, with every number traceable.
Deck generation from 20+ investment-bank templates, with a provenance trail running from each figure back to the passage it came from. Expect a formatting pass if the house format is bespoke. Perplexity Computer produces work products, but into its own workflow outputs rather than a template you supply.
Join our position and P&L data in Snowflake to filings and consensus, and answer across both.
A scoped IAM role runs the query inside the warehouse, and those tables land in the same ontology as the external corpus, so one agent run reads across both. Perplexity has a Snowflake connector at Enterprise, but it reaches the table rather than joining it into an entity model.
We already pay for Morningstar, PitchBook and Daloopa, and we want an agent across all three by next week.
Bring-your-own-license MCP connectors and a published $40 per seat Enterprise Pro price, with no procurement cycle to wait on. One caveat for a regulated desk: on two of three readings, audit logging is not part of that $40 seat and needs 50 or more seats, or one Enterprise Max seat at $325.
Two-analyst shop trying to retire four subscriptions without hiring a fifth person.
Keep Perplexity for the open-web question at $20 or $40 a seat. The AllMind case here is consolidation rather than headcount: one system carrying the dataset classes, Expert Insights and document generation that a small desk could never justify buying separately.
The decision turns on whose license the data sits on: content that ships with the platform and permissions every agent inherits, or the open web plus the subscriptions your firm already buys.
Perplexity Finance is the faster, cheaper and more available product, and since Computer for Professional Finance arrived in early May 2026 it does real analyst work. What it does not carry is the entitlement: expert transcripts arrive through your Guidepoint contract, premium fundamentals through your Morningstar, PitchBook or FactSet contract.
AllMind is bought when the work runs for hours across licensed content and the firm’s own Snowflake, Databricks or S3 data, and when every access has to be logged against a per-user entitlement an agent cannot widen.
AllMind vs Perplexity Finance, answered
Not entirely: Perplexity replaces the fast outside-in half of the job, but not the entitled content layer underneath. Perplexity covers live news, filing summaries, an earnings call transcribed while it runs, and since early May 2026 an agent layer with roughly 35 analyst workflows.
Perplexity’s premium finance depth is licensed by the buyer, so expert transcripts and premium fundamentals arrive through connectors you pay other vendors for. Its own March 2026 changelog says filings, transcripts, consensus estimates and exchange data are built in, so the line runs around entitled content, not all data.
Most desks that adopt Perplexity keep it and buy an institutional system beside it.
