Pro Medicus FY26 slides: 28% revenue growth, A$407M in new contracts

Pro Medicus reported record FY26 performance: revenue rose 22.9% reported to A$261.7M (28.4% constant currency) and underlying EBIT increased 24.4% to A$196.1M, with EBIT margins expanding 90 bps to 74.9%. Forward contracts jumped to A$1.34B over five years (+41.3% in 12 months) alongside a 100% renewal rate and A$548M in new wins/renewals. The company raised confidence with FY27 guidance targeting >30% growth in constant-currency revenue and EBIT, and increased dividends 25.5% to 69.0 cents per share (fully franked), after shares surged 12.4% to A$197.67.

Analysis

The equity takeaway is less about a single strong year and more about the platform becoming the control point for image-heavy clinical workflows. Each new deployment increases switching costs, raises the probability of adjacent-module attach, and makes the installed base more valuable than the current fee line suggests. That creates a durable wedge against legacy imaging vendors and also turns downstream AI developers into distribution tenants rather than stand-alone competitors.

Near term, the stock can keep grinding higher on post-print multiple support, but the cleaner catalyst path is over the next 1-3 months as new go-lives convert backlog into billable volume and validate the pace of expansion outside core radiology. The main risk is not demand, it is execution cadence: if implementation timing slips or renewal pricing normalizes, the market will likely compress the multiple before the reported growth rate visibly weakens. On a 6-18 month view, the real upside is from monetizing workflow adjacency, not from headline AI buzz.

The consensus may be underestimating how little incremental revenue needs to come from the new modules to matter for valuation, while overestimating the immediate financial impact of features like AI reporting or pathology. Cloud hyperscalers are incidental beneficiaries here, but the economics are too small to matter versus the software vendor itself. Falsifiers are straightforward: a guide below the 30% constant-currency growth run-rate, a slowdown in contract signings/renewals, or any evidence that customers are using the platform but delaying full monetization of the transaction model.
