AllMind vs AlphaSights

AllMind is an AI research system for institutional investors: filings, broker research, expert transcripts and your own warehouse tables as one connected map.

AlphaSights is an expert network: associates take your brief, recruit a specialist and schedule the call.

One creates evidence that does not exist yet; the other reads what already does and builds the deliverable.

The short version
01
AllMind
AI research system for institutional investors

Holds 6,800+ premium data sources and your own Snowflake, Databricks or S3 as one map of entities and relationships, runs agents across a coverage list, and returns a cited Excel model, Word memo or deck.

02
AlphaSights
Expert network with a content platform

Recruits named specialists for calls, surveys and advisor placements. The company states 2,000+ professionals in nine cities and more than three million client-expert interactions delivered.

03
How to choose
Sourcing, or synthesis

If the answer lives in one person’s head and nowhere else, that is sourcing, and AlphaSights is built for it. If it is scattered across filings, research, transcripts and your own models, that is synthesis, and AllMind is.

Every dash in the AlphaSights column means the capability is not named on the AlphaSights pages we read on 30 August 2026 (/platform/, /services/, /hedge-funds/, /experts/, /investment-banks-research/, /compliance/ and the homepage), not that AlphaSights denies it; four segment pages we did not open could say otherwise. A rival vendor’s sharper negatives are left out: its claim that AlphaSights offers no AI-powered search is contradicted by AlphaSights’ own platform page. The prepaid-credit model is a third-party reading (Inex One, June 2026); no credit-to-call ratio is published. The 200-company figure is from AllMind’s compare pages, not /platform/agent-studio, and “Not sold as a service” reflects that some Expert Insights transcripts are arranged through AllMind.

Where AllMind leads

Three places the work goes differently

01One class, or every class

An expert call answers one question; a thesis has twenty more

AlphaSights sells a single content class and builds its whole platform around it. AlphaNow holds the calls you commissioned, investor-led transcripts other clients commissioned and expert-written company one-pagers, with a free AI Call Summary on every transcript and, on the company’s own account, hundreds of new items a week (alphasights.com/platform/, read 30 August 2026).

AllMind treats expert reading as one input among many. Expert Insights sits inside 6,800+ premium data sources spanning S&P, FactSet, LSEG and MSCI data, broker research, live news from thousands of sources worldwide, global IR data, live earnings and financials available within minutes, alternative data and, founder-stated, sector-specific collections. The ontology holds all of it as entities and relationships rather than documents to retrieve, so an agent can start from a supplier’s remark in a transcript, open that supplier’s filings, and land on the estimate revisions that followed. No filings, broker research or market data are named on any AlphaSights product page we read.

02The half of the evidence that is yours

Half the evidence sits in your own systems, and AlphaSights names no way in

AllMind reads the firm’s own systems alongside the public record. A scoped IAM role opens Snowflake, Databricks and S3, and queries run where the data already sits rather than copying it out; Data Rooms add folder sync from Google Drive and OneDrive. Per-user entitlements travel with the query, so an agent inherits exactly what you may see and can never widen it. That matters because half the evidence is never public: the model the team has carried for six quarters, the diligence file from the last look, the internal dashboard nobody outside the firm has opened.

AlphaSights names no warehouse connector, no API and no general document upload on any of the five product pages we read on 30 August 2026. Its platform holds the record of the consultations it arranged for you, a coherent design for a services business that leaves the internal half of the question outside the tool. The honest caveat on our side: connecting real internal depth is a data conversation during onboarding, not a signup.

03After the call ends

A transcript is a record, not the deliverable

AlphaSights says it returns a human transcript within hours, a free AI Call Summary with it, and an AI Project Summary that updates after each call (alphasights.com/platform/, read 30 August 2026). That genuinely compresses note-taking. It does not produce the artifact the work is judged on.

AllMind builds the artifact itself: Excel models carrying live formulas for DCF, LBO and comps, Word memos and research notes, and PowerPoint decks off 20+ investment-bank templates, and it will edit an existing PPTX, DOCX or XLSX rather than only creating a new file. Every figure traces to its source document at the passage, and a verification pass re-checks numbers before a report ships. One limit is worth stating plainly: the output arrives inside a supplied template, so a house format that differs still costs a formatting pass, and the narrative and the rating remain the analyst’s call.

In fairness

Where AlphaSights is strong

AlphaSights has spent since 2008 building a capability no software substitutes for: finding a named human who knows one specific thing and getting them on the phone. The company states 2,000+ professionals across nine cities, more than three million client-expert interactions delivered, and 70% revenue CAGR from 2009 to 2023. Around the calls sits real machinery: 60+ legal and compliance professionals working 24/7, every expert background-checked before any interaction, and 700+ investment funds relying on that framework.

Its bench of ex-investors will moderate a call for you. Where a question needs numbers rather than anecdote, the in-house survey team authors the instrument, fields it and analyzes the results, and for a live deal an Executive Partnerships team will second an industry veteran onto the team. Offices in Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Dubai, with staff speaking 60+ languages, make non-English sourcing a physical-presence advantage no corpus replicates. If your edge comes from conversations nobody else has had, buy AlphaSights.

The platforms

A service that creates evidence, and a system that reasons over it

01

AllMind

AI research system for institutional investors

AllMind holds external data and the firm’s own systems as one financial ontology: companies, suppliers, customers, estimates, filings and the desk’s own research kept as entities with the relationships between them, not as documents waiting in an index.

Agents work that map for minutes or hours and hand back the artifact itself, an Excel model, a Word memo or a deck, with every figure traced to its source passage. Expert-call transcripts are one shipped content class inside it, not the product.

02

AlphaSights

Expert network with a content platform on top

AlphaSights is a services business with a software wrapper. Associates take your brief, screen and schedule the specialists, and will moderate the call themselves; a separate team fields surveys and another places operating advisors onto deal teams.

AlphaNow then hosts the transcripts, attaches an AI summary and lets clients search calls other investors commissioned. Founded in 2008 with nine offices, it calls itself “The World Knowledge Partner” and publishes no expert count, only that it works with thousands of specialist industry experts.

Strengths and trade-offs

What each one is good at, and what it costs you

Both lists are written to be quoted. The AlphaSights strengths are the ones no research platform reproduces, and the AllMind trade-offs are scope limits a desk should price in before it signs anything.
01

AllMind

Strengths
  • Expert Insights ships as a built-in content class, reachable from Chat, its own tab and Data Rooms
  • A financial ontology links companies, suppliers, customers, estimates and filings, so agents traverse relationships
  • Live earnings and financials are available within minutes of release
  • Every figure traces to its source passage, and a verification pass re-checks numbers before a report ships
  • Per-user entitlements are inherited by agents and can never be widened, and every access is logged
  • One automation runs across a coverage list of up to 200 companies (AllMind states)
Trade-offs
  • Does not recruit experts against a brief, field surveys or second an advisor onto a deal team
  • Deliverables land in a supplied template, so a bespoke house format still needs a formatting pass
  • Connecting real internal depth is a data conversation during onboarding, not a signup
  • Live embargoed broker research needs the firm’s own RMS entitlement, and aftermarket research arrives on a delay
02

AlphaSights

Strengths
  • Recruits a named specialist against a written brief and puts them on a one-to-one call
  • Its own bench of ex-investors will moderate the call on your behalf
  • An in-house team authors, fields and analyzes primary quantitative surveys end to end
  • Executive Partnerships seconds an industry veteran onto a live deal team
  • 60+ legal and compliance staff across nine cities, 24/7, every expert background-checked
  • Nine offices including Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Dubai, staff speaking 60+ languages
Trade-offs
  • Names no filings, broker research, news or market data on any product page we checked
  • Names no warehouse connector, API or general document upload on any product page we checked
  • Publishes no expert count and no AlphaNow size figure; a directory calls the library smaller than GLG’s
  • No information-security certification and no pricing page are published anywhere on the site
Pricing

What AllMind and AlphaSights actually cost

Neither company publishes a price, so nothing below is a list price. Directories describe AlphaSights as a prepaid-credit model billed per interaction, and AllMind is a quote-based subscription. Every AlphaSights figure below carries its own evidence label, because the vendor has published none of them.
01

AllMind

Quote-based, with no self-serve checkout

Pricing is quote-based, and the limit is worth naming: nothing here is self-serve, there is no monthly plan, and anyone outside an institutional setting will be happier with a tool they can buy with a card. What moves an AllMind number is entitlements and how much internal data gets connected, not a headcount alone.

02

AlphaSights

No published pricing and no rate card

AlphaSights publishes nothing about price. Its own page sitemap carried no /pricing URL when we read it on 30 August 2026, and access starts with a sales conversation rather than a signup. The figures below come from expert-network directories, and one of them is explicitly tagged an inference by the directory that published it.

Decision note

What changes the quote

Expert-network spend is a variable line, not a seat line. What moves it is the number of expert hours a desk consumes, the seniority and scarcity of the people recruited, how the contract converts credits into calls, and the add-ons: translation, recording retention, blinded and moderated calls, survey fielding and Deal Advisor searches.

AlphaSights publishes no credit-to-call ratio, so none is stated here, and directories note that credit pricing across expert networks hides the effective hourly cost. What moves an AllMind quote is different in kind: entitlements, notably live embargoed broker research which needs the firm’s own RMS entitlement, and the scope of the internal-data connections.

The two contracts are not like-for-like, so do not compare a rate to a rate. AlphaSights spend scales with hours consumed and stops when the calls stop; an AllMind subscription does not move with usage. The comparison a budget owner can actually make is an annual expert-hours budget against an annual platform line.

By the job

Which one you want, task by task

Four jobs off a real research desk. One goes to AlphaSights outright, two are honestly split, and only one is a clean AllMind win.
AlphaSights

We sign in three weeks and I need to know what churn actually looked like inside the target. It is in nobody’s document.

Custom recruiting decides this one. AlphaSights sources a former operator against the brief and puts them on a call, and AllMind does not sell expert recruiting. AlphaSights publishes no scheduling SLA, so treat any turnaround figure quoted elsewhere as unverified.

AllMind

I cover 60 names and want every guidance change flagged and written up the morning after each print.

Event-triggered agents built in Agent Studio run the same job across a coverage list of up to 200 companies, delivered as Word or PDF. AlphaSights offers watchlist alerts on new transcripts, which tells you something happened without doing the work.

Run both

I want to read an expert transcript on this name before I spend a call credit.

Both sides hold libraries. AlphaNow is what AlphaSights calls investor-led call transcripts plus expert-written one-pagers; Expert Insights is AllMind’s class of transcripts with senior operators and industry specialists, entitled to the firm or arranged through AllMind. Whichever library covers the name decides it, and on AllMind the transcript sits beside the filings and your model.

Run both

Diligence memo due Friday, off our Snowflake model, the target’s filings, broker research and three expert calls.

The scoped-IAM warehouse connection and template document generation put the memo on AllMind’s side: it queries the internal model in place, reads it against the public record and writes the Word file with figures traced to source. The three calls still come from an expert network.

The bottom line

AllMind and AlphaSights sell different halves of a research problem: buy AllMind when the bottleneck is synthesis, or buy AlphaSights when the bottleneck is sourcing.

On the AllMind side the mechanism is an ontology holding filings, broker research, Expert Insights transcripts, live earnings and your own Snowflake or Databricks tables as entities and relationships, with agents that work across them for minutes or hours and return a cited model, memo or deck.

On the AlphaSights side it is human: associates who recruit a named specialist against your brief, moderate the call, field the survey and second an advisor onto the deal. Plenty of desks need both, on different budget lines.

FAQ

AllMind vs AlphaSights, answered

Only for part of the job. AllMind replaces the reading of expert transcripts, not the recruiting of experts. AlphaSights sells recruiting a specific person against your brief, plus surveys and advisor placements. AllMind sells none of that.

Where the two overlap is Expert Insights, a built-in AllMind content class of transcripts with senior operators and industry specialists, entitled to the firm or arranged through AllMind, so a desk reads expert conversations without a network contract. Hours spent mostly reading can substitute part of that spend. Hours spent on bespoke recruiting, surveys or Deal Advisor searches should keep AlphaSights, with AllMind added for the work around the call.
