The economic relevance for GOOG is less the near-term hardware revenue than whether longitudinal health data reduces Android wearable churn and raises the probability that Pixel becomes a credible premium ecosystem attachment. Free availability is strategically defensive: it narrows Apple Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch feature differentiation, but also limits direct subscription ARPU unless Google converts engaged users into broader Fitbit Premium, health-services, or device-upgrade cohorts.
