The economic value of the tagged credits should rise only if the market believes they are now admissible into a regulated buyer base; that can narrow discounts versus generic voluntary offsets and improve financing optionality against inventory. For Base Carbon, the first-order upside is a better exit multiple on held credits, not a near-term revenue surge.

Second-order, the real read-through is to the carbon-offset supply chain. If CORSIA demand is effectively embedded into EU aviation compliance, high-quality, registry-verified supply should gain bargaining power while lower-grade voluntary credits become even more bifurcated and discounted. That matters for project developers and aggregators more than for airlines: carriers may get a cheaper compliance instrument, but the market impact on their P&L is likely modest versus fuel and labor unless offset prices reprice sharply.

The contrarian risk is that tagging is not monetization. This is a quality-screening milestone, and the market may be overestimating how much of the inventory clears at anything close to headline value, especially given persistent scrutiny around cookstove methodologies. Over 1-3 months, the key catalyst is an actual offtake or sale; over 6-18 months, the thesis depends on whether EU implementation remains intact and whether the market continues to accept these credits without a deeper discount.
