Why Meta's glasses and Apple's watch raise the same consent problem

Apple introduced Audio Intelligence features for Apple Watch that can transcribe the prior 15 seconds of conversation via a double press of the Digital Crown and generate post-conversation summaries. Apple said the functionality does not create audio recordings and that it cannot access user data, positioning privacy protections as a key feature of the AI rollout.
