This looks like a financing-and-capacity story more than a quarter story. A completed equity raise before the demand curve is visible usually tells you management wants to front-run a multi-quarter buildout, but it also creates an immediate valuation ceiling: until investors see backlog conversion, the market will discount dilution faster than it capitalizes future growth.

The real option is missile-defense qualification. That kind of work rarely turns into revenue in the same quarter it is announced; the first payoff is usually 2-4 quarters later in engineering spend and only later in volume, so the Oklahoma plant matters only if utilization ramps quickly enough to absorb fixed costs. If it does, the upside is margin leverage; if it does not, the plant becomes a drag and the equity raise looks defensive rather than growth-accretive.

Second-order, the winners are larger defense/composites names with stronger balance sheets and lower customer concentration, while smaller niche suppliers may see similar end-demand but less rerating because of execution risk. The market may be underestimating how much of PKE’s thesis depends on a handful of program awards and how little near-term operating leverage there is before those awards convert. Falsifiers: no meaningful backlog acceleration in the next 1-2 quarters, gross margin failing to inflect after plant commissioning, or the stock holding up despite no follow-through on contract news.
